Hi, I’m Kathleen O’Connor, author of suspense and crime thrillers. My first book The Fifth Bullet was published on 1st November 2024. Many people ask me when I started writing or what inspired me to start writing, but the truth is that I’ve always been a writer. From the dizzy heights of inventing characters in my Care Bears notebook as soon as I was old enough to hold a pen, to the years of copy writing at an advertising agency…it’s just something I’ve always done. 

 

The Fifth Bullet was inspired by a daydream and a nightmare, and a genuine love of the characters that compelled me to delve into the depths of their own motivations. This propelled the story along until it was finally a full length novel that literally took on a life of its own. It’s almost disappointing when you get to the point that its finished and presentable, as by then I’ve been completely submerged in their world and now have to come up for a gulp of air in the ‘real’ world!
